We believe every learner has the ability to overcome challenges, to excel, and to soar.
History & Ethos
Previously called JS Learning, One Loaf Learning started in 2012 and was born out of a desire to improve the lives of students through the provision of quality and accessible education to all, regardless of background. Since then, we had annual enrollment of hundreds of students, taught individually or in small groups of 2 to 6 students. We have always focused on a ‘learner-centric’ approach, where we place our focus on helping our students at the stage of learning that they are at and nurture them step-by-step towards greater heights. In creating One Loaf Learning’s culture, we believe in 2 key principles. First, a ‘personalised’ education where we seek to adjust our teaching methods and style to fit the learner. Second, a ‘self-discovery’ approach where we facilitate the student to think for themselves rather than simply giving answers. At one point, we had also offered Website and Application Development courses as well as Cafe Management coursesto further enrich the experiences of our students. In line with our vision, we have a subsidized tuition program where we partnered with multiple Family Service Centres and subsidized over 114 students between Secondary 1 to JC2, with over $313,100 in fees over the years.

Kevin Ng Kang Wei graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from NTU, and discovered an interest in empowering others through education after a short teaching stint at a charitable organization. Since then, he has been a private tutor for Mathematics and Science for students from multiple schools like Nanyang Girls’ High,School of Science & Technology, Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), Nan Hua High, St Joseph’s Institution, Victoria School, Crescent Girls’ etc. To further strengthen his skills as a tutor, he took up a Master’s In Education (Curriculum & Teaching) at National Institute Of Education and has since used this knowledge to enhance the learning experience of students. Paying close attention to ‘how students learn’ instead of only on ‘how teachers teach’, he has learnt how to understand different ways students learn and has employed different methods to help them. He believes that the future of education will be augmented with Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning technology and works towards incorporating it as part of One Loaf Learning's curriculum. As a believer in Christ, he also believes that education should be accessible to all regardless of their background and spends a portion of his time to help needy students. In his free time, he loves to watch movies and play the guitar.
